How to Measure

Dog bandanas

Not much measuring involved here - just three unique sizes:

Teeny Extra small Chihuahua, Small Maltese, Mini Daschunds and dogs with very slim necks such as Chinese Crested etc.
Regular Fits most dogs - fold over to fit Terriers, Border Collie, Spaniels, Beagle, Staffy, Husky, average sized Labradors etc.
Jumbo Extra large Very large breeds and dogs with very wide necks such as Great Dane, Mastiffs, Newfies etc. Also dogs with very fluffy necks such as larger German Shepherd males and very chunky Labradors.

A dog bandana is a little scarf or neckerchief that ties loosely around the dogs neck. It will drape nicely as the fabric is soft and lightweight.

Message Vests

Message vests have a fully elasticated neck for easy fit which sits approximately in the same position as your dog’s collar. The elastic is designed to stretch easily when your dog sits or lies down. The bottom edge of the vest has a strong webbing strap and clip to allow you to adjust the size depending on your dog’s girth. The strap should be fastened behind the front legs of the dog for a comfortable fit.

The arrow shows a measure from the base of your dog’s collar to the point on the back which lies above the back of the dog’s legs.
This can be tricky to measure on a wriggley dog, so here are some breed examples to help:

Small (10cm) = Pug, Boston Terrier, Bichon, JRT

Medium (12cm) = Cocker Spaniel, Small Staffy Female, Whippet

Large (14cm) = Springer Spaniel, Border Collie

XLarge (16cm) = Labrador, Dalmatian, German Shorthaired Pointer

XXLarge (20cm) = GSD, Newfie, Great Dane. This is our largest size and there is a bigger size jump between the XL and the XXL

Message vests are like short little dog jacket / tabards with personalised wording for nervous dogs, dogs who need space, anxious, blind, deaf, vision impaired, allergic dogs, etc.

Communicoats

Communicoats™ are printed dog coats with a wide shaped neck and elastic at the front for an easy and comfortable fit and to make it quick and easy to put on. The back of the neck sits a little bit behind your dog’s collar. They have an elastic strap and clip underneath to allow you to adjust the size depending on your dog’s girth. The elastic strap allows for a bit of movement which is particularly useful for dogs in post-operative recovery or for a bit of extra girth if wearing over a winter coat.

 customised dog coat measurement

The arrow shows a measure from the back of the dog's shoulder blades to the bottom of the back a bit before the base of the tail. Do not measure from the collar as this won't come out correct size.
This can be tricky to measure on a wriggley dog, so here are some breed examples to help:

Small (29cm) = Pug, Boston Terrier, Bichon, JRT

Medium (36cm) = Cocker Spaniel, Small Staffy Female, Whippet

Large (40cm) = Springer Spaniel, Border Collie

XLarge (48cm) = Labrador, Dalmatian, German Shorthaired Pointer

XXLarge (62cm) = GSD, Newfie, Great Dane. This is our largest size and there is a bigger size jump between the XL and the XXL

Communicoats are slightly longer dog coats / dog jackets with wording for dog training and safety. Like a tabard which can be worn over other dog coat in the winter, or lightweight enough to be worn alone in the summer.
